What if Miers turns out to be an Intellectual

The assumption about Miers is that she is anti-intellectual. Everything about her is anti-intellectual.

This is important because I know some attorney's who have not been judges and have no real track record of publication that I know who would be great Supreme Court Justices. I base this mostly on my knowledge that they are intellectuals of the first kind. They have lived a great portion of their adult life immersed in Burke, Hayek, Tocquville, Kirk and others.

What if Miers comes out in the hearings (if she makes it to the hearings) as a full fledged intellectual conservative. Would she get more support? Or is it already too late for people to change their minds....

Granted, some have reported, such as John Fund, that he has been unable to find a single person who ever had a substantive conversation with Harriet Miers. Thus, the chance that she will be an intellectual is non-existant... nevertheless, its fun to speculate....
