Odds on Miers Falling

Tradesports.com has a security which pays $100 if Harriet Miers is confirmed. The graph above is its price since October 5 (note the dates are in the European day/month format). She started out at over $90 and ended yesterday at $62. She's currently at $64. Seems like calling your biggest supporters sexist snobs hasn't staunched the bleeding.

A week ago, Bodog Sports Book was favoring Miers confirmation. Now the wager is not available.

They seem to like Ben Bernanke as next Fed Chairman, if you're wondering.

Just heard on ABC Radio News that the Harriet Miers nomination will not be withdrawn. So, should be any time now . . .

It seems hard for me to imagine that Bush will withdraw the nomination. Miers would have to quit.

If Miers is just like Bush (as they keep telling us) there won't be any quitting.
