Frog Facts

My backyard is filled with frogs right now. Have you ever wondered what frogs did in the winter time:

FROGS hibernate at the bottom of streams and ponds where the water does not freeze. Woodland frogs find shelter under leaves and dirt. During the winter
they freeze but thaw out and wake up in the spring.
Are frogs actually chryogenic?

Frogs' bodies have some natural antifreeze chemicals built into them, but a few kinds of frogs who live in especially cold climates can even survive being frozen solid!
Freezing during the winter and thawing out for the spring actually doesn't sound that bad. If you are looking for additional frog facts, click here or here.
